Let's see...

Dai-chan is Japanese figure skating champion again this year. That makes four, folks, he's a four time champ there, and after missing a year! I'm excited for the Olympics. There is a LOT of competition on the men's side this year. I'm going to be on pins and needles, cheering him on. Be prepared for possible angst and fan girl freak outs. Just sayin'. I'm obsessed with him. His skating really moves me, and he's purdy.

Gonna work a teeny bit in the morning. Would've been a longer shift, but then someone else wanted extra or something, too. I don't know. It got all mixed up, but I'll go open anyway. It'll get me outta bed when normally I'm off on Tuesdays.

Don't think I'll do anything for New Year's. No one I know is having a party, and I'm NOT going downtown with all the drunk crazy people and spending far too much money on drinks. Nuh uh. Besides, I'm not drinking and driving, either. No sir.

The gift my boss left me (besides some nice green papers, tee hee) was pretty cool. A little French style notebook, antique looking of sorts, and a giant bar of pre de Provence, which is a lovely smelling, creamy French soap. I've never used it before, as I tend to get bath gels/creams for my sensitive skin. Stuff that won't dry it out, also. But this is pretty damned nice. I think she's actually given me a new addiction. Merde. (Note to self: save money for soap.)

I'm back to work tomorrow after just chilling most of the day. Kevin watched a movie with me and brought me some of the peanut butter fudge that his mom always sends. I suppose I can finish off a little wine and....and...work out? Sure. Sure I will. :P

In exciting news ('least it is to me), Daisuke trumped everyone and took first place after the short program at Japanese Nationals, last night. Long program today. Oh...and he shattered that previous record breaking score of his. This performance is on youtube now, and even cleaner and more impressive than the video of his last one that I shared here. =D (Fingers crossed for him!)

New Year's plans?

Yes, here I am, enjoying another day off, here, which was much needed, as last friday I started getting that ick feeling. You know it— the one where you're certain your body is being attacked by some virus or another, yet is trying to fight it.

I had sinus pressure and was thinking I might be on the verge of a cold, as it's been going around. It sucked, being so easily exhausted, but worst of all were the dizzy spells. My equilibrium was all messed up. I left work early, and that night in bed when I'd roll over, the ceiling would spin. Ack. This was so-so on Saturday, and then worse on Sunday, where once again I left work, even earlier than Friday. Wouldn't want to cut someone's ear off, after all, and it was starting to make me nauseous. Turning my head certain ways fucked me all up. Driving home was rather frightening! Likely I'm the only person on the planet who ever wished to wake up with a nose full of snot. I wished this, figuring the pressure would start going away, then, and I'd stop being dizzy.

Well. I'm not full of mucus, but the dizzy did go away with a lot of the pressure. Still, having to run some errands yesterday wore me out for a while, and I didn't even do that much. But I'm better now, and hoping I don't have a relapse. I'm working for a while tomorrow, but NOT tomorrow NIGHT, because hay, it's Xmas eve, and no one should have to work. I of course have Friday off, which is nice. I'm just going to chill with the rest of the wine I've hoarded here. Or not hoarded, since I keep drinking it, along with the big ole chocolate pudding bundt cake I got. Yumm.

Boss says she left me a gift (including cash) in my locker at work. I shall see what that is tomorrow. Other than all this, nothing much else is going on, which is just fine. I don't need the year to go out with a big BANG. I can't believe this year's about gone, anyway.
